car rides, critters, hubby & houses

So… Wednesday around 1:15 pm, I decided that I would go visit hubby in Iowa. I had to wait until Caitlin was done at school at 3 pm. At three, away we went on our road trip to see daddy.

We did not get to Mason City until almost 10:30 pm. I am not completely sure what took us so long to get there. We only stopped to go to the bathroom and to get out and stretch our legs a few times. I did take the wrong road; I should have turned on a different highway, but that should not have made too big of a difference.

When ever I travel, near or far, I always see critters along the way. This time I saw a dozen bald eagles, a woodchuck, and a flamingo.

Tony was at his parent’s house when I finally arrived. They had closed the bar early, so he took off home to meet me. It was great to see him. I miss him so much. We went out to get something to eat, and then we just drove around until I was ready to go to sleep.

Tony’s bar is awesome. The place is huge, the bar is big, and the dance floor is an okay size for the bar. They are trying to make it a biker bar because the owner and his brother are Harley guys. Bike night starts next week, I think.

We went house hunting. I saw the one that Tony and his mom saw. Tony and I saw it online and really liked it. I still sort of liked it in person, but I didn’t like the stairs. We looked at two other houses that day. We had our realtor set up more showings for the next day. Its funny how you find something and you know it’s the perfect one; husbands, rings, vehicles, houses. We found one we really love. We still like the first one, and if the sale of this one falls through, we could live in the other one easily. But this one is so perfect. The size is great, the layout is perfect; it has a porch, a small yard, attached garage, and a “den”. The “den” is half of what would be the porch, except its weatherized and has gorgeous French doors. HELLO!?! CRAFT ROOM??? lol

The kid’s grandparents took the kids for most of the weekend so I could spend time with my husband. We went house hunting and hung out. It was really nice spending time with Tony with out the kids. We hardly get to do this since we normally don’t have someone to watch the children.

The girls and I started for home around 11:00 am. We stopped a few times, and got home at 4:30. I wonder how the way home was shorter, time wise, then the way there. Oh well, we are home.

Oh yeah.. the flamingo was plastic.

My morning rant

My brain never shuts off. It constantly has something to think about. Whether it’s something silly like how I should clean this or that, what bills need to be paid, or I what I should do with the kids.

My brain just does not stop. It just goes on and on and on. If I were to speak the thoughts running through my head, I would never shut up. It is horrible, especially when my brain goes on its repeat mode.

I don’t think my brain knows how to stop running. It’s like the energizer bunny. It just keeps going and going. Why can I not just clear my brain even for five minutes?

Wonderful things

I love rainbows!

Dumpster divin...

Have you ever gone dumpster diving? I never have. I never have stopped along side a dumpster and taken what was next to it or in it. The whole thought of it as being trash just grosses me out big time.

The reason why I bring this up is because when I moved the van last night, I had to wait for some guy who was taking up the whole alley with his car, and digging through the dumpster. It was just creepy. The dumpster diving man looked very scruffy, but not harmful.

The rest of the night I felt pretty freaked out because of the way my brain works. It likes to fixate on one thing and worry about it. Some times it likes to switch between thoughts like a mad person. Stupid bi polar!

ugh

OK i know i wrote a post about the days when hubby was here to visit. but i guess blogger was hungry and ate it. w t f.

Dreams...

Dreams are very intriguing. It’s amazing how your mind works. The things you dream about when you are asleep at night or just napping are crazy. Well my dreams are crazy. Maybe it’s because I am crazy!

I used to try to look up my dreams online with dream interpreter websites. I have given up trying to figure out what my dreams mean. A few of them are very simple for me to realize where they stem from.

A few of my dreams

I had just got out of bed, and I realize that there were baby snakes all over on the carpet. Crawling every where, every inch of carpet was covered in them.

When I had that dream, I was addicted to Animal Planet. I had watched several different shows about all kinds of animals, and one entire show was about the venomous snakes in South Africa. The man went searching for the top ten deadliest snakes. He drove for days to look for these creatures; he even got scratched by the fang of one of them.

I had a dream that I was in prison. I don’t remember much of the details other then being in prison, surrounded by other inmates. During this time, I was watching Prison Break episodes 1 thru 14 in a matter of a couple of days.

Another one of my dreams was about Bam Margera. I was at some dinner party with Bam and several of his friends. After dinner, he asked me back to his hotel room to party. I told “I don’t think my husband would like that very much”. I have told Tony that if I would ever leave him for someone famous, it would be Bam. Yet in my dream, I did not.

Recently, when Tony came to visit, we were sitting together, and I looked at him and asked him if he had told me I needed to mop the floor. He replied with “Id never tell you to clean anything”. Makes sense that he would in my dream, since the floors do need to be mopped.

Sometimes my dreams are so real, that I have to ask Tony to make sure they were just a dream. I often dream of the silliest things such as changing Zoes diaper, or making lunch for the girls, just weird every day stuff. Sometimes its like my world and the dream world have meshed together...

Happy Easter!

I woke up to a really awesome suprise this morning. And no, it was not the Easter Bunny. I heard some one unlock the door and drop a garbage bag onto the floor. I knew exactly who it was. TONY! He came to visit us! He drove up after work last night and got here about 5:30am.

I am soo happy to see him! Its been 32 days since I have seen him. That is the longest we have ever been apart. We have been apart for a week at a time, a bit more when Heather and I went on our road trip vacation a couple years ago, but never this long. Its so good to see him! I missed him so very much!!

:D Happy Easter!

Wednesday

Tomorrow is the begining of "Spring Break". Not only will I have Zoe all day, I will have miss jabberjaws whiney pants also. Caitlin does not stop talking. When I ask her why she does not stop talking, she tells me that her mouth wont let her. I told her to tell her mouth to please stop talking, in which she replyed, I cant because I am always talking...

Is it WEDNESDAY April 19th yet? Please say yes. LOL

Ok so this could be fun. I will have to plan out some activities to keep the three of us super busy and maybe she wont jabber me to death.

My appointment with the hematologist is tomorrow. I am scared, yet relived that it is finally here. I made my appointment almost a month ago. But I guess he only comes to town once a month. Im just lucky he actually comes to this town. I have to drive an hour to see my mental health dr. I get to do that on the 28th. Weeeee cant wait...

LOL OK must leave on a positive note:

um...

hmm...

lol

well ok then!

Oh ok. So tomorrow is a full moon! I love the stars, the moon, the planets. I also recently rediscovered how much I love looking at clouds. I could not stop looking at them this afternoon, until the movment of them made my eyes all bugged out LOL

Horoscope, Chinese Proverb, & other wise words

Being born on June 1st, I am a Gemini. I like to follow my horoscope on a regular basis. I try not to live by it, but it is very interesting to read what it says.

Today’s horoscope

This transit will inspire you to make money through unusual and intriguing means. You will have unique connections to your co-workers, and much can be learned if you observe their actions during this period. (88%)

You can make money through investments or working with products or services for the home. During this transit you may come into money through inheritance or family investments. You will keep close ties to your family, relatives and friends. (80%)

Brief summary of Gemini

Gemini has so many talents and interests; sometimes you may find that your attention gets split between too many things at once. It's just so easy for to start doing something, and then get distracted by something else that seems equally as fascinating. Yet this diversity will also be the root of your success, for you have the ability to accomplish much more than the average person, often in a relatively short time. You're able to keep track of a wide range of information that would confuse a lesser person. Rather than causing undue stress, the many demands on your time and attention actually seem to increase your energy and motivation.

It is very intriguing and I often wonder who comes up with this stuff. I don’t have any co-workers, so that makes it strange. I have no family that will die and leave an inheritance. I am sure my mother’s house will go to her husband, or his children. This really does not bother me except I could sell it for some cash. Yes I know how morbid planning my mothers death.

Today's Chinese Proverb:
"Govern a small family as you would cook a small fish, very gently."

I look to the Chinese Proverb of the day for inspiration. Sometimes it can be helpful, others not so much!

Buddhism: Your Daily Meditation

This 'real' nature with whose revelation the Chan Masters are primarily concerned, or the Atman-'I' of the Vedantists, is not the far-off, unreachable will-o'-the-wisp we are apt to imagine, but just the within of which we know the without. It is just the other side of the medal, and it lies wherever our senses and our intellect cease to function. - Ask the Awakened by Wei Wu Wei

The Buddhist way is very interesting.

Many sects and traditions will have different practices to complement the Eightfold Noble Path laid out by Shakyamuni Buddha, but all have these as their basis:

  1. Right Views: i.e., Knowledge of the Four Noble Truths:
    1. The world is full of suffering and stress. (glad someone realizes this)
    2. The cause of this suffering and stress is desires of physical instincts. (wow)
    3. If desire can be removed, and suffering and stress will be ended. (good words to live by)
    4. Desire can be removed by following the Eightfold Noble Path: Right Views, Right Thoughts, Right Speech, Right Conduct, Right Livelihood, Right Effort, Right Mindfulness, Right Concentration. (that’s a lot of rights)
  2. Right Thoughts: Aspire to attain realization of Nirvana, i.e., perfect wisdom, the ultimate true permanent reality. (so Nirvana really does exist)
  3. Right Speech: Abstain from all lying, falsehoods, evil, abusive and frivolous speech. (this should be easy)
  4. Right Conduct: Keep the Five Precepts:
    1. Abstain from taking life, (bad mafia, bad)
    2. abstain from taking that which is not given, (please do not steal)
    3. abstain from misconduct done in lust, (no lust for you!)
    4. abstain from lying, (this is common sense, which some people lack)
    5. abstain from all forms of intoxication. (no drinking, drugs, smoking, etc.)
  5. Right Livelihood: Abstain from all evil living and all manner of ill-gotten gain or means of livelihood. (ok, no spending that evil blood money)
  6. Right Effort: Abstain from all evil states of mind; foster and maintain virtuous states of mind; compassion, pity, sympathy, calmness and tranquility (this is hard to have all of these things at one time! Takes a lot of inner strength)
  7. Right Mindfulness: Regard everything as being impermanent, ill and corrupt: i.e., all feelings, perceptions, inclinations, consciousness, thoughts, mental states, mental images and mental activities. (I guess I don’t qualify because of my mental illness lol)
  8. Right Concentration: Foster dispassion, detachment, and revulsion for the things of the world as being decaying and impermanent. Practice aloofness from evil states of mind, from the senses and all sensations. Practice dwelling in solitude and seclusion, meditating and reflecting with singleness of mind. (hmm no friends.)

*the stuff in black is copied and pasted from some websites. The stuff in red are my words. I do not mock the Buddhism belief system. I have great respect for any person who can follow all of these “rights” for they are very strong.

Wonderful Morning

This morning was horrible. I went in the girls’ room to get Zoe out of the crib, and I guess I woke Caitlin up. Caitlin says in a very grumpy voice, “Momma, you woke me up!” I said well yeah… there’s school today!

She received a new pair of pants and a matching shirt for her birthday. I thought they might be a little big, so I asked her nicely to please try them on. Caitlin did not want to put them on. So I told her she would go to school in her pajamas! She said “But mom today is not pajama day”. I told her “I guess you should get dressed then”. She barely got one leg in before complaining that they were way too long. I said yes, but they might be different if you are in them standing up! She yelled at me that they were too big and going to fall down again before she even had them on. So, since it was going to be nice out today, I went and got her a pair of her Capri’s. She put those on, and then complained that they were way too short! I told her that they are supposed to be that way, but she insisted that her legs were cold. FINE. So I found her a regular pair of plain jeans. She still had the short sleeve shirt on, and then complained about how her arms were going to be cold.

Well then her socks were the wrong kind. Her coat was too big. Her shoes were hard to get on; I hurt her hair when I brushed it. The stool she stands on was scary. It tickled when I brushed her teeth. I got tooth paste on her mouth. We are going to be late for school (she said it not me, we still had 30 minutes and the school is two minutes away). I could do nothing right this morning. She even said “I don’t like you mommy”.

But the second we got down stairs to see Carol & Ron, things changed. She was happy; smile on her face, her whole attitude was different.

bleh!

Yesterday I felt rather sick. I was stuffy, yet runny nose, my head felt like it weighted a hundred pounds. In the morning, I took Dayquil cold/flu. Then in the afternoon, I took more. I also took some Sudafed. Seemed like neither worked, because I still felt horrible. After I went and picked Caitlin up from school, I was down right miserable. The kids wanted cold cereal for dinner, and I was not going to argue. That’s about all I felt I could make anyways.

I put the kids to bed a bit early, don’t worry, they have a TV. I should have moved the van after I put them to bed, but I was just too sick. I ended up taking some Benadryl around 6ish. Well I kept feeling cold, so I bundled up with pajama pants, and a sweatshirt. I took a permanent place on the couch with three blankets. I continued to shiver. Finally around 8pm, I took my temperature. It was 101.6. That makes me wonder what it was before I took the Benadryl!

My fever must have broke sometime during the night because I woke up feeling a lot better. Still not 100%, but 80% better then last night when I was miserable and shivering on the couch!

(dont worry, I did end up moving the van around 10pm even though I still felt like I was floating... So no ticket!)

Five reasons why I LOVE staying home with my girls

1 I get to see silly little things that happen during the day. Like Zoe running down the hallway and stopping just to wiggle her butt, then back to running.

2 I get to see Caitlin play with her leap pad and how far she has come with it. At first it used to be tapping to see what she could make it do. Now she actually plays the games, and lets the thing read to her.

3 Today when I went to get Zoe up from her nap, I saw her drawing on the leap pad. I had to take a picture of it once I saw it. It was so cute!

4 I can watch the kids play and listen to their little conversations they have as they play with their toys. It’s amazing the things they pick up on when other adults are talking. They tend to use their new little words and phrases when they are playing.

5 I get to hear things like MOM I don’t like you because you make me sad because you told me to pick up in my room. Or Mom I really love you. You’re the greatest mom ever. Its funny to hear one thing then the other!

Monday blue Monday

Today was an okay day. I took Caitlin to school while Carol watched Zoe at the bakery. Zoe and I came up stairs, as I watched the news, she played with the newest addition to our “Littlest Pet Shop” toys. We took a nap, and then when we got up, I got to chat online with my hubby!

I was getting ready to go wake up Zoe from her second nap, and realized she was pretty much out. So I called Ron to see if he could pick up Caitlin from preschool.

Then dinner, kids in bed, chattered with hubby some more, then watched 24. Now I am hoping to chat with hubby a bit more before I go to bed!

Sunday March 2nd 2006

Well Friday Tonys parents Randall & Kim came to visit for the weekend! It was so nice having other adults around!! I probably talked their ear off and then some though...

Satuday Kim & I went shopping for the usual diapers, wipes, and stuff. My trash can lid had broke, so its useless now, and Kim bought me a new one! Thank you again Kim!!! She also got me a ton of adhesive. Im a bit mad about the adhesive because I have done nothing but fight with it to get it to work! Monday morning I am calling the company! Grr dont sell a product if it doesnt work..

Today was Caitlins 5th birthday, and her party actually fell on it. We had her party at Ron & Carols house. It was a good day! I thought my grandmother would be asking me where Tony is a zillion times, she only asked twice! I guess Ron called her the other day, and she told him that I did not tell her that the party was at R&Cs house. I know I did, that was the whole point of me calling them the other day!! Grr she told EVERYONE that I did not tell her... Ugh Old age better not fnd me...

You can find pictures from the birthday party over in my "family photos" in my links!

Weekend

I did a ton of scrap booking this weekend. I told my mother in law that I would have some pages for their never ending book. I ended up making nine pages for all four albums that I fill. Ron, Carol, John, Diane, and Brad should all be happy for the add on too.

Today is Caitlin’s 5th birthday. We are having her party at Ron and Carol’s house around noon. I love my kid’s parties. So far, its just family, Ill starts the “kid” parties after she gets into kindergarten.

Caitlin kept telling me she wanted The Littlest Petshop mice. I told her I don’t think they make those. Well turns out that they DO make them. I found them on EBay and ordered them. They came on Thursday via post office. I can not wait until she sees them! She will be so happy, or disappointment, who knows.
